US News & World report released its annual list of Best High Schools in the U.S. on Tuesday morning, April 23.
The rankings were determined by performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare students for college.
Julia R. Masterman Secondary School in Philadelphia was rated the fourth best school in the nation. Downington STEM Academy also made the top 50, coming in at No. 46.
According to US News, these are the top 10 high schools in Pennsylvania:
- No. 10: Harriton High School, Rosemont
- No. 9: Upper Saint Clair High School, Pittsburgh
- No. 8: Pittsburgh CAPA
- No. 7: Great Valley High School
- No. 6: Radnor High School
- No. 5: Central High School, Philadelphia
- No. 4: Conestoga High School, Berwyn
- No. 3: Wilkes-Barre Area Sd Stem Academy, Plains
- No. 2: Downingtown STEM Academy
- No. 1: Julia R. Masterman Secondary School, Philadelphia
